AVANT GARDE HORROR & FANTASY FILM FESTIVAL is a one-of-a-kind competitive international Genre Film Festival and the first in Croatia dedicated exclusively to Horror & Fantasy films which combines and blends artistic, experimental or macabre elements to promote, disseminate and bring attention to unique genre films which tantalize, excite, thrill, break boundaries and shock the senses.

Along with a competitive program of screenings, AGHFFF will also feature various exclusive INDUSTRY PANELS, MASTERCLASSES & FILMMAKING WORKSHOP’S hosted by international genre industry professionals and celebrity guests, allowing audiences and filmmakers to learn more about the wonders of genre filmmaking, while promoting the town of Novigrad - Cittanova, region of Istria and country of Croatia as a prime destination and one-stop-shop for the creation and production of awesome genre films.

With a strong selection of internationally appealing features & shorts, audiences and industry professionals will have a chance to indulge in the very best of genre bending films, watching everything from traditional horror to thriller, fantasy, giallo, slashers, 80's exploitation, experimental, gore, surrealist and hybrid auteur films.
